As a Bristol City Council tutor, my pupils at Glenfrome, Luckwell and Sefton Park are eligible for a discount through the Assisted Purchase Scheme.
The Assisted Purchase Scheme is run by the Bristol Arts & Music Service and allows pupils to purchase instruments without having to pay the VAT.
In order to purchase an instrument through the scheme the following conditions must be met:
- The student must be receiving instrumental tuition through BAMS, either in a Local Authority school or through one of our Music Centres. Please note that pupils attending academy schools are no longer able to access this scheme (unless attending a BAMS Music Centre). Information for Academies can be found below.
- The instrument must be portable.
- The instrument must be appropriate to the student’s needs and ability.
If you would like to take advantage of this opportunity complete an Assisted Purchase Scheme order form. This contains full details of the procedure that you will need to follow to order your instrument. Please note that there is a £5 admin charge for participating in this scheme.
For information and advice regarding eligibility and prices, or if you have any other questions, please contact Lin Hingley at BAMS on 0117 377 1050.
